2025/2026
Annual Report

CEO

A Message from the Leadership of Southlake Health and Southlake Health Foundation

This past year was a strong reflection of the pride for people, place, and performance that has been the bedrock of Southlake Health for over a century.

For the eighth consecutive year Southlake was named one of the World’s Best Hospitals by Newsweek. This award was bolstered by two new recognitions: one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures and one of the Greater Toronto Area’s Top Employers. Together, this trio of awards are a strong reflection of the compassion, dedication, and expertise of our incredible teams.

We are proud of what we accomplished this year, which will propel us forward in the years to come.

As we reflect on this remarkable year, we do so with gratitude, optimism, and excitement for the work ahead as we transform Southlake into a Distributed Health Network to deliver leading edge care, even closer to home over the decade ahead.

Our Impact

Southlake Health makes a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of patients and families across our region every day. From investing in lifesaving technology to expanding access to care, every milestone reflects our commitment to delivering leading edge care close to home. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our communities and the dedication of our medical staff, staff, and volunteers.

Reflecting on our Pride for People, Place, and Performance

For over a century, Southlake has built healthy communities with a pride of people, place and performance. These pillars shape how leading edge care is delivered and how Southlake Health continues to grow to meet the needs of patients and families.

Southlake is proud to be part of countless stories that celebrate care, healing, and hope. The following stories highlight the skill and compassion of teams across Southlake and the support of generous donors and local communities. Each story serves as a reminder that leading edge care truly is close to home when we work together.

Financials

Southlake Health and Southlake Health Foundation remain committed to strong fiscal stewardship while meeting the growing and complex needs of our communities. In the past year, we maximized resources to support frontline care and invest in critical infrastructure. Through careful planning, strategic investment, and the generous support of our communities; we continue to build a financially sustainable future for our hospital and the patients we serve.

Transforming into Southlake’s Distributed Health Network

Over the next decade, Southlake will build a Distributed Health Network (DHN) — a more sustainable model that organizes services across multiple sites and communities rather than relying on a single hospital. A new hospital in East Gwillimbury and redeveloped Davis Drive campus will anchor care across northern York Region and southern Simcoe County. They will be supported by community-based services at Advanced Care Centres across the region and enabled by digital health and system partnerships. With provincial endorsement and funding secured, Southlake is now moving from planning to implementation of its Distributed Health Network.

Together, all parts of the DHN will allow Southlake to meet the needs of a growing and aging population, improve experiences for patients and staff, and bring care even closer to home.
